(calls are toll-free in SD County only). Shots Line staff can help
callers check immunization records over the phone and provide referrals
for low to no cost immunization services for infants and toddlers.
Remember that preK/ child care center staff can call Health Educator
at (619) 692-8601 with questions or problems, but parents should
call The Shots Line.

Don’t
Forget Varicella Vaccine or Proof of Chickenpox!
Checking for the Varicella (Chickenpox) Immunization Requirement
shouldn't be "new" - the regulation went into effect in
July 2001. However, it is the most recent requirement added to the
School and Child Care Immunization Requirements. Proof of
1 correctly-documented dose of the varicella vaccine for OR doctor
documented proof of the disease is required for children in child
care between the ages of 18 months and 5 years and for all kindergartners.

The "2007 San Diego Binational Immunization Guides", were developed to help healthcare, school and childcare providers in California and Baja California to be able to compare and understand immunization schedules and vaccines used on both sides of the San Diego-Tijuana Border. These revised guides were developed by the San Diego Immunization Branch in collaboration with the Tijuana Immunization Program, with support from the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission, the California Immunization Branch and the California Distance Learning Health Network.
