The San Diego County Immunization Coalition (SDIC) is a local coalition
of approximately 150 partner organizations working with the San
Diego Immunization Branch (SDIB) of the County’s, Health and
Human Services Agency. Coalition members work together to identify
and develop strategies to raise immunization (IZ) coverage for all
residents of San Diego County.

The San Diego Immunization Coalition (SDIC) has been active
since 1992, making it one of the oldest continuously operating immunization
coalitions in the nation.

Goals and activities
I-3 supports the Strategic
Goals of the SDIB for FY 2007-08.
SDIC Partner Organizations
The following organizations support the activities of I-3 and the
San Diego Immunization Branch in a variety of ways.

Partner activities include: attending quarterly I-3 Advisory Council
meetings, participating in subcommittee work groups and, most important,
implementing immunization-focused activities through their organizations
and the community.
Immunization-focused activities include hosting health fairs, holding
flu shot clinics, conducting immunization presentations, and inviting
Branch health educators to present or conduct immunization training.
Members also distribute IZ materials and resources, provide referrals
to health care resources for immunizations, and perform immunization
record assessments. They educate clients, staff or customers on
immunization issues and distribute educational materials and resources.
I-3 partner activities are numerous and varied, allowing each organization
the opportunity to create its own venues and ways to promote Immunizations.
