Handwashing Awareness Week (Dec. 4-10, 2005) is an
observance designed to promote the importance of handwashing
in protecting your health and preventing the spread of disease.
Locally, the Immunization Branch partnered with the YMCA Childcare
Resource Service and the Copley Family YMCA Preschool to celebrate
the week. Wilma Wooten, M.D., Deputy County Public Health Officer,
addressed the importance of proper handwashing while the children
enjoyed fun handwashing activities. For more information on
