Pandemic Influenza and Seasonal Influenza

Currently, there is NO pandemic influenza in the U.S. However, if it occurred during the regular influenza season, the pandemic influenza and seasonal influenza viruses could be combined and form a potentially more serious influenza virus. Therefore, it is important for people to get their annual influenza shot to prevent this potential problem.

For information about pandemic influenza and avian influenza, please be sure to visit the County Pandemic and Bird Influenza website by clicking here. This site contains information and links to other County department pandemic and bird influenza websites. You can also call the County of San Diego HHSA Avian and Pandemic Influenza Information Line at (619) 515-6900.
