More than 40 clinic sites throughout the county offer free or low cost (depending on ability to pay) baby shots for children under the age of two years. Click
here for the locations of the clinics near you. Because the
hours are subject to change, be sure to call first. Remember to
bring your child's shot record with you!
Walk-in, no
appointment immunization services are available at Public Health
Clinic sites. Days and times are subject to change, so please call
the site for current information. The public health clinics offer
routine childhood vaccines to protect against diphtheria, tetanus,
pertussis (DTaP), haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), pneumococcal
diseases, polio, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chickenpox),
hepatitis A and hepatitis B. Routine adult vaccines are also available
to protect against tetanus, diphtheria and measles. Adults with
certain health conditions/risks may be eligible for pneumococcal
vaccine and hepatitis B.
Children under 24 months of age are immunized free (depending on ability to pay). The cost to everyone
else is $10 for the clinic visit at San Diego County Public Health
Centers and their satellite locations, regardless of how many shots
are given. Other clinic locations may have different fees. Please
call the clinic location you wish to visit to verify the fees.
Those who cannot afford the fee can sign a fee waiver. Be sure to
take your immunization record to every visit!
