  IMMUNIZATION RECOMMENDATIONS:
INFANTS AND CHILDREN

It is important for you to know whether your child has all the shots he or she needs. For the current schedule of immunizations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, review Recommendations for Childhood Immunizations January 2008.

Kindergarten and 7th Grade Entry

*Varicella Note: If your child has had chickenpox disease, ask your doctor to note it on the Immunization Record to meet the school law requirement.

The California School Immunization Law allows a child to be exempt from the immunization requirements for personal beliefs or medical reasons. Ask your school or child care provider for details.

For more information, call your doctor or clinic. In San Diego County, you can also call the Baby Shots Line at (888) 692-2575 to check your child's immunization record with a nurse and ask about free baby shots.
